八桂奇石馆是一个以桂中少数民族居为物色，由一、二馆组合而成的建筑群，它占地一千 二百二十七平方米，建筑面积二千八百六十八平方米。这座呈L型布局、依山傍水、南接绿地的三层建筑，外墙朔木朔竹、坡面屋顶、灰瓦绿墙，其扑面的民俗民风，浓郁的乡土气息，与古老的石文化浑然一体，高雅自然。
八桂奇石馆中展示的奇石约五千余件，大部分产于柳州地区。按形成与分布的环境可分为七大族群，它们是：山石、水石、土石、洞石、岩石、化石和混成石族，约五十余种。即在国内已知观赏石九大族群中，除风石、陨石外，均有分布和出产，可谓品种繁多，姿态各异。馆中珍藏的许多奇石精品如，“中华魂”、“暮色苍茫看劲松”、“大漠古道”等，都是在历次国内赏石展和国际雅石展中获奖的作品，它们不仅是八桂奇石馆的镇馆之宝，亦是被东南亚石玩界誉为“奇石之都”--柳州市的骄傲。逐一品评和观赏，令人受益匪浅。
在层览布局上八桂奇石馆更是 灵活多变，独具匠心，使奇石鉴赏这一高层次的文化活动拥有了较多的观赏角度和空间，更为引人入胜。一馆以现代布局手法为主，一、二楼一色的白色主调，使奇石在清幽、清谧中更显其神秘和素雅；在三楼“藏珍阁”中赭黄色的氛围下，奇石的华贵和凝重得到充分的体现。二馆呈院落式布局，曲径通幽，室内外空间交融，赏石休闲更富情趣；馆中明式、清式仿古书案上，古扑巧拙的奇石亦加卓而不群。与此同时，馆中还配以柔和的灯光，伴以悠扬的和声，更有与石相呼应的联匾字画，暗含哲理，深藏寓意，咏题于必然……流连其中，令人顿生怀旧叹新，亦真亦幻之感。
古人云：“仁者乐山，智者乐水，仁智兼者乐石”，令人云：“黄金有价石无价”。八桂奇石馆敞开着林林总总观石、品石之门，诚邀各位名人贤士，来馆观赏品评，摩挲咏吟，叩知自然。
Bagui Fantastic Stone Exhibition consists of two exhibition halls in two buildings, which were completed in 1994 and 1999. It is characteristic of minorities’ construction style with an area of 3000 square meters. There are always hundreds of pieces of wonderful unique stones on display and there are hundreds of beautiful and unique stones which can be divided into more than 60 or so sorts of stone. There are Dahua colorful Jade-like stone, Dahua Moer stone for sculpture, Laibin Veined marble, Heshan fine painted pottery, Sanjiang cobblestone, Tian E stone, etc. Besides these, there is Lingbi Stone and Taihu stone, which is the best among the four kinds of famous traditional stones. They are sparking and crystal-clean. Most of the stones on display have often won Gold Prizes in national or international fantastic stone competition matches, such as: Water-washed Stone named Zhong Hua Spirit, the Colored Pottery Stone from Heshan named Rustling Autumn Wind, the stone called Rich River and Mountains in Beauty, Strong Lion;? Dahua Colored Jade-like Stone—Sparkling Colors, Colored Pottery Stone—Blooming Spring, Heshan Color Pottery Stone—Ancient Desert, Dahua Color Jade-like stone -- Blessing Bird, Lion Welcoming, Laibin Veined stone--?? ?Chieftain, Guizhou Water-washed Cool Stone，Laibin Water-washed stone--- Natural Ink-slab, Stone Banquet consisting of Gebin stones from Inner Mongolia and so on. But, Zhong Hua Spirit (Chinese Spirit) is one of the best. It is priceless.
Confucius said “The benevolent like mountains and the wise like rivers”. As we know that stone comes from hills and is naturally washed into different polished shape of fantastic one. It is the stones that have made not only spirit of heaven and earth, but nimbus of the universe. When you come for viewing and admiring the stones , you will know Bagui Fanatic Stone Museum.
